Senior Indian Tourists Injured in Chitwan Jeep Accident

Six senior Indian tourists were injured when their jeep overturned near Nepal's Chitwan district. The incident occurred as they were heading to Chitwan National Park. Injured tourists, mostly over 60, are from Mumbai's Bendali Thana area and are receiving treatment in local hospitals. The driver is in custody.

Six Indian tourists, predominantly senior citizens, sustained injuries after their jeep overturned near a lake in Nepal's Chitwan district on Sunday, officials confirmed.

The accident happened in the vicinity of Darai Lake at Khaireni while the group was en route to Chitwan National Park for a jungle safari, according to Kedarnath Panta, chairperson of ward number 12, Khaireni municipality.

Chitwan National Park, located 250 km south of Kathmandu, is renowned for its one-horned Rhinos and Bengal Tigers.

Police revealed that all the injured tourists hail from Mumbai's Bendali Thana area, with most being over 60 years old. The identified victims are Ramchandra Yadav, Sudesh Shanker Khadia, Pankaj Gupteshwor, Vaishali Gupteshwor, Sushmita Sudesh Khadia, and Vijaya More.

The injured are currently receiving medical treatment at hospitals in Bharatpur and Ratnanagar. Authorities have taken the jeep's Nepalese driver into custody for further investigation.
