Three individuals lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries after a double-decker sleeper bus collided with a truck near Toli village in Thana Sikandra Rao on Thursday morning. The bus, en route from Chandigarh to Unnao, rammed into a truck parked on the roadside, according to District Magistrate Ashish Kumar.
Police Station SHO Arvind Kumar Rathi reported that the 30-year-old bus driver Daljeet Singh died instantly. Two other passengers, Adesh Yadav, 25, and Saurabh, 32, later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Authorities have dispatched the bodies for post-mortem examinations, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive proper medical care.
This tragedy follows another severe incident on Wednesday, where a double-decker sleeper bus collided with a milk tanker in Unnao on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, resulting in the deaths of 18 people onboard.
