Nepal's Buddha Air Skids Off Runway: Safe Evacuation for 59 Onboard

A Buddha Air aircraft with 59 people onboard skidded off the runway while landing at Lumbini province's Gautam Buddha Airport on Thursday night, according to a media report on Friday.
Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident, and all 59, including four crew members, were evacuated safely.
The aircraft got stuck in the mud while landing from east to west, police spokesperson Manohar Prasad Bhatta told The Kathmandu Post.
As a result, the airport is currently closed with the aircraft still on the runway. Buddha Air, based in Lalitpur, operates domestic flights within Nepal and international services to India, including Varanasi.
