Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeeve announced on Friday that the state is prioritising industries rooted in knowledge and innovation to create employment opportunities for the youth and attract investments. Speaking at the country's first International Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) event, he highlighted that the state is on a mission to become a knowledge-centric economy.

The conference, held from July 11-12 and organized by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) in collaboration with IBM, was a platform for discussing government initiatives to foster investment. Rajeeve elucidated on the Industrial Policy 2023, emphasizing strengths like IT-skilled human resources and identifying 22 priority sectors including AI and Big Data Analytics.

The minister also mentioned ongoing efforts to simplify the licensing process for entrepreneurs through K-SWIFT, and highlighted the success in granting permits for private industrial parks. Additionally, comprehensive AI strategies and an emphasis on sustainable development were presented by key officials.
