DoT Gathers Telecom Leaders to Shape India's Digital Future

The Department of Telecommunications held a two-day session with newly formed Stakeholders Advisory Committees to shape India's telecommunication future. Led by Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, the initiative aims to solidify India as a telecom powerhouse.

Under the stewardship of Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) convened the second meeting of its newly established Stakeholders Advisory Committees (SACs). This initiative aims to engage industry leaders in shaping the future of India's telecommunications ecosystem, the Ministry of Communications announced Monday.

Minister Scindia, addressing the media after the meeting, said, "Today we've had three advisory committee meetings. A comprehensive agenda has been set for all three committees. Over the next few weeks, the committees will work on individual issues, diving into details to create action plans with clear timelines." He added, "These committees form the backbone of India’s communication sector and are crucial to achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a telecom superpower."

Scindia also shared his thoughts on social media platform X, highlighting his chairing of the first Advisory Committee Meeting for Internet Service Providers and Infrastructure Providers. He emphasized the importance of a forward-looking approach to expand internet infrastructure and ensure last-mile telecom delivery. The two-day session included meetings with various stakeholders, including Telecom Service Providers, Internet Service Providers, R&D experts, OEMs, and the Satellite Communication Ecosystem.
