India's domestic air passenger traffic increased by 5.76% year-on-year in June 2024, reaching 1.32 crore, according to DGCA data. IndiGo led with a 60.5% market share, followed by Air India and Vistara. Tata Group's airlines collectively held a 28.5% market share, with Akasa Air achieving the highest on-time performance.

India's domestic air passenger traffic grew by 5.76% year-on-year in June, reaching 1.32 crore passengers, as reported by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday.
Dominating the skies, budget carrier IndiGo carried 80.86 lakh passengers, securing a 60.5% market share. Tata Group's Air India and Vistara transported 17.47 lakh and 12.84 lakh passengers, achieving market shares of 13.1% and 9.6%, respectively.
AIX Connect, formerly AirAsia India, also part of the Tata Group, ferried 7.70 lakh passengers, accounting for a 5.8% market share. Collectively, the Tata Group's three airlines captured a 28.5% share of domestic air traffic. SpiceJet and Akasa Air contributed 5.3% and 4.4%, with Akasa Air leading in on-time performance at 79.5% across four major metro airports.
