PGGC Alumni Association Launches UK Chapter at House of Lords

The Alumni Association of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh inaugurated its UK Chapter with a ceremony at the House of Lords, London on July 18, 2024, featuring speeches, a British Parliament tour, and a banquet at St. James Court.

VMPL New Delhi [India], July 27: The Alumni Association of the Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 11, Chandigarh, marked a significant milestone by launching its UK Chapter in a ceremony held at the House of Lords on July 18, 2024.

Lord Rami Ranger, a distinguished alumnus and Member of the House of Lords, expressed his excitement and pride, remarking, "I am absolutely overwhelmed by the occasion. When I graduated from my Alma mater over half a century ago, I never dreamt that our Alumni Association would become comparable to those of the world's most esteemed institutions." The launch event featured a tour of the British Parliament followed by High Tea at the House of Lords, and concluded with a lunch hosted by Lord Ranger.

Vineet Nanda, Founder Member and President of the Delhi Chapter, emphasized the importance of the event and announced that the annual UK Chapter gatherings will be held with the same grandeur. Navneet Soni IRS (Retd.), Senior Vice President, highlighted the pride and camaraderie among alumni, while Maninder S. Bains IAS (Retd.), President, paid tribute to former principals, professors, and alumni. Jagseer S. Mann, Vice President, and Dr. B. P. Yadav, Principal of PGGC 11, also expressed their delight. Sukhjit S. Dhiman, General Secretary, urged alumni to strengthen their bonds and contribute to the college's goals. The evening ended with a nostalgic banquet at St. James Court.
