Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday stated that the 'historic' Budget 2024-25 will pave the way for India to emerge as the world's third-largest economy in the coming three to four years. Addressing a press conference in Panaji, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister emphasized the transformative impact of capital expenditure outlined in the Union Budget especially for western regions like Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.

Rijiju highlighted that the Budget aims to revamp not only railways, airways, and shipping ports but also crucial infrastructure sectors that are pivotal for economic growth. Describing it as 'hugely historic,' he said it lays the foundation for making India a fully developed nation by 2047.

With an 8.2 percent growth rate, India's economy has outpaced global trends through strategic fiscal management. Rijiju noted that Goa, under the Modi government, has seen a significant rise in the devolution of taxes and duties. He praised the late Manohar Parrikar as a visionary chief minister, crediting the Budget for enhancing tourism, fish exports, and agricultural production in Goa.
