In a commendable development, GD Goenka University has revealed that Dr. Divya Jain, a distinguished PhD scholar from the institution, will be part of the Indian Olympic Association's medical team during the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Dr. Jain, who leads Psychological services at Fortis National Mental Health Program, will collaborate with renowned psychiatrist Dr. Samir Parikh to ensure the mental well-being of Indian athletes. Dr. Jain emphasized the importance of familiarizing athletes with their medical team, stating, "I travelled to SAI centres and NIS Patiala so athletes would recognize us by name and face, easing their comfort level when meeting in Paris. A medical room will be available, and we will also be present at venues if needed."
