Tragic Train Derailment in Jharkhand: 2 Dead, 20 Injured

A severe train derailment occurred early Tuesday in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district, resulting in 2 fatalities and 20 injuries. The Howrah-Mumbai Mail train's 18 coaches derailed, prompting immediate rescue efforts. A nearby goods train was also derailed, though the connection between the two incidents remains unclear.

Early Tuesday, a tragic train derailment occurred in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to twenty others, according to officials.

The Howrah-Mumbai Mail's 18 derailed coaches disrupted the railway line near Barabamboo, about 80 km from Jamshedpur, at approximately 3:45 AM, the South Eastern Railway (SER) reports.

Concurrently, a nearby goods train also derailed, although the relationship between the two incidents is still under investigation. Rescue operations are in progress, and an NDRF team has been dispatched to the scene.
