ITA Airways Halts Tel Aviv Flights Amid Middle East Tensions
ITA Airways has suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 6 due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, prioritizing passenger and crew safety. This decision follows a series of flight cancellations by various airlines as Lebanon anticipates potential Israeli retaliation over the Golan Heights incident.
ITA Airways has announced the suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv effective immediately, a precautionary measure in light of escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The airline cited passenger and crew safety as the primary reason for the suspension.
The suspension will last until August 6, according to a statement released on ITA Airways' website. This move aligns with several other airlines that have recently cancelled or suspended operations in the region.
The heightened tensions follow a deadly strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that claimed the lives of 12 children and teenagers. Although Hezbollah has denied involvement, Lebanon is preparing for possible Israeli retaliatory actions, further contributing to the region's volatility.
