A landslide on Puttur By-pass Road, also known as National Highway 275, has impeded traffic flow, officials confirmed on Friday.
Local sources indicated that the landslide took place around 3 am, causing vehicles bound for Mysuru and Mangaluru to detour through Puttur town.
Police reported no incidents of stranded individuals or vehicles. Barricades were set up on both sides of the landslide site, redirecting traffic through Puttur. City police have implemented measures to manage the traffic.
The State Highways Department dispatched excavation machinery and work crews, commencing rubble clearance at 8 am.
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has forecasted more rainfall in the region, potentially hindering the clearance operations.
