Tragedy struck at Doddakallasandra station as a 35-year-old man, whose identity remains unknown, died by suicide by jumping in front of an approaching Metro train on Saturday evening, officials confirmed.
The incident, which occurred at 17.45 hrs, has led to the suspension of Metro services on the Green Line between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute Stations, according to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The corporation has launched an investigation to identify the victim and understand the reasons behind the drastic action.
Despite the disruption, services continue to operate in other sections of the Green Line. BMRCL officials, who communicated the preliminary details via a post on ‘X’, are urging the public to remain patient as they work on restoring full service.
