Bihar Cabinet Approves Policies to Boost Local Industry and Welfare Initiatives
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet approved the Bihar Purchase Preference Policy 2024 to enhance local industrial units, prioritizing procurements from micro, small, and startup enterprises. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet on Tuesday approved the Bihar Purchase Preference Policy 2024 aimed at boosting local industrial units by prioritizing procurement from micro, small, and startup enterprises in the state.
This move is expected to maximize employment opportunities for the local population, according to Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S Siddharth. The policy, proposed by the finance department, is set to enhance competitiveness among local industrial units and startups.
Eligibility criteria require units to be registered and operational in Bihar, with a GST return filed and paid for at least one year. The cabinet also approved health aid measures and incentives for anti-illegal mining efforts.
