Meesho Boosts Festive Hiring: 8.5 Lakh Seasonal Jobs Added
E-commerce platform Meesho has significantly increased its seasonal staff, hiring 8.5 lakh workers for its seller and logistics network, primarily from tier-3 and tier-4 regions. This marks a 70% increase from last year, offering substantial economic opportunities. The hires include gig workers from various logistics providers and Meesho's internal teams.

Meesho, an e-commerce platform, announced on Thursday that it has hired 8.5 lakh seasonal staff for its seller and logistics networks ahead of the upcoming festival season. This hiring surge marks a 70 percent increase compared to the previous year.
According to Sourabh Pandey, Meesho's CXO of Fulfilment and Experience, the additional staffing aims to empower small and medium businesses (SMBs), local manufacturers, and logistics providers, particularly in tier-3 and tier-4 cities. ''We are particularly thrilled to have enabled 8.5 lakh seasonal jobs,'' Pandey said, emphasizing the company's commitment to driving financial inclusion in these regions.
Meesho's sellers have hired 5 lakh seasonal workers for the festive season. Additionally, 3.5 lakh gig workers have been hired through third-party logistics providers such as Delhivery, Ecom Express, Shadowfax, and Xpressbees, along with Meesho's in-house logistics team, Valmo. The majority of these roles involve first-mile, middle-mile, and delivery tasks.
