On Thursday, Indian stock markets displayed a flat opening, pausing the selling trend observed on Wednesday. The markets are in a holding pattern amid Prime Minister Modi's visit to the United States, anticipated for potential trade outcomes. The Nifty 50 index rose slightly by 0.05%, and the BSE Sensex climbed by 0.04% at the opening bell.

In sectoral movements on the NSE, most indices experienced marginal gains, save for Nifty Bank, Nifty FMCG, and Nifty Metal. Market experts point to Modi's meetings with President Trump, and the international attention on their discussions as key factors. Aiding market sentiment was a conversation between Trump and Putin, though sustained FPI selling continues to exert pressure on Indian markets.

Ajay Bagga, a Banking and Market Expert, shared insights with ANI about Modi's agenda, following a fruitful trip to France. He said agreements on trade, energy, and defense with the US are expected, which would enhance bilateral ties. Meanwhile, discussions about Ukraine-Russia peace hold potential for improved global market sentiments. In the Nifty 50, there were 28 gainers and 21 losers as trading commenced, with keeping an eye on Kotak Bank's rise post-Reserve Bank restrictions lifting.

Kotak Bank shares surged, following the RBI's removal of constraints that dated back to the previous year, signaling renewed opportunities for new customer acquisition and credit card issuance. Market technicals reveal that after opening down for a sixth session, buying activity significantly picked up around the 22800 zone, suggesting robust support here, while resistance is anticipated between 23155 and 23293.

Investor attention today is also on major financial disclosures from companies like Hindalco Industries and United Breweries. Elsewhere in Asia, Japan's Nikkei broke ahead with a 1.3% rise, mirrored by positive movements in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea, while Singapore's market remained under slight pressure.
