The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) achieved a significant milestone by conducting the first trial run of a freight train with Multi-Unit locomotives in the Shokhuvi-Molvom section of Nagaland's Dhansiri-Zubza new line project.
This trial marks a crucial step forward in boosting railway connectivity within the region. Officially carried out on Tuesday, the freight train arrived at Molvom around 6 pm, highlighting progress toward commissioning the vital 15.419 km railway stretch due for completion in the coming months, according to NFR's Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma.
The new rail link, once fully operational, is expected to enhance passenger and goods movement, foster economic development, and promote business opportunities, contributing significantly to Nagaland's socio-economic growth.
