Uno Minda to Acquire Full Stake in Joint Venture with FRIWO

Uno Minda is set to acquire the remaining 49.9% stake in its joint venture with FRIWO Geratebau GmbH for Rs 195 crore, gaining full ownership of UnoMinda EV Systems. The acquisition includes intellectual property and R&D assets from Germany and Vietnam, aiming to boost its presence in the Indian EV market.

In a strategic move to consolidate its position in the electric vehicle sector, auto components manufacturer Uno Minda announced on Friday its decision to acquire the remaining 49.9% stake in its joint venture with FRIWO Geratebau GmbH.

The transaction, valued at Rs 195 crore, will grant Uno Minda full ownership of UnoMinda EV Systems, enhancing its stake from 50.10% to 100%. This acquisition also includes the intellectual property rights and research and development assets related to e-drive business technologies from FRIWO's facilities in Germany and Vietnam.

With the deal expected to conclude by the end of Q1FY26, Uno Minda aims to leverage this opportunity to solidify its leadership position in the Indian electric vehicle systems market, particularly in the burgeoning two-wheeler segment.
