Trailblazing Textile Transformation: FMC Awards Recognize Green and Social Initiatives

The Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC) in collaboration with CITI organized the 8th FMC Award for Responsible BMOs at New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam, celebrating the role of Business Membership Organizations in fostering sustainable growth within the MSME sector. Over 130 BMOs, comprising 40,000 MSMEs, competed for this prestigious recognition which emphasizes environmental, social, and governance best practices.
Key awards included recognition for Haryana Environmental Management Society (HEMS) in promoting green environments and ITAMMA for tackling social issues within textiles. The District/Cluster-level accolades went to Jayadev Banana Farmers and Artisans Association for sustainable fiber production and Nitya Sangha Mahila SHG Cooperative Society for women empowerment through banking solutions.
FMC's new textile recycling initiative, backed by Switch Asia EU, targets sustainability enhancements across India's textile waste management from hubs like Panipat. This project will ensure transparency via a Digital Product Passport and usher in eco-friendly processes benefiting thousands of MSMEs.
