Maruti Suzuki's Kharkhoda Plant Powers Up: A New Chapter in Indian Auto Manufacturing
Maruti Suzuki India has started commercial production at its new Kharkhoda facility, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022. Maruti Suzuki India announced on Tuesday the commencement of commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the plant in August 2022. The facility will initially produce the compact SUV Brezza, boasting an annual capacity of 2.5 lakh units.
The new site expands Maruti's total production capability to 26 lakh units annually. Implemented with an investment of Rs 18,000 crore, the Kharkhoda plant is Maruti's third in Haryana, aiming for a peak capacity of 10 lakh units per year. Company shares rose 1.02% to Rs 12,473.25 on the BSE.
