IndiGo is set to enhance its international presence by launching daily operations on the Delhi-Bangkok route using leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This new development is part of a broader strategy to accommodate increasing air traffic demand.
Currently relying on a plane temporarily obtained from Norse Atlantic, IndiGo has outlined ambitious plans for further fleet expansion. The airline will induct A321 XLRs starting next financial year and expects the addition of wide-body A350s by 2027.
In a statement made on Tuesday, IndiGo announced that the Boeing 787-9 flight will feature 56 IndiGoStretch seats alongside 282 economy seats, and reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to lease additional aircraft. IndiGo currently operates over 400 aircraft, conducting about 2,200 flights daily.
