O.P. Jindal Global University recently organized a three-day convention aimed at fostering an inclusive and gender-just future. The event gathered experts from multiple sectors, including politics, film, and education, to discuss the challenges and achievements regarding women's empowerment in India.

At the convention, the Sonipat Declaration 2025 was adopted as a transformational framework to ensure gender justice. The declaration emphasizes five core pillars, including creating opportunities for women, addressing systemic barriers, and promoting their participation in decision-making processes. Anupriya Patel, India's Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, underscored the government's commitment to inclusivity in her valedictory address.

Sessions featuring industry leaders like film-maker Ronnie Screwvala and educational experts provided insights into the progress and hurdles women face in various fields. Discussion topics ranged from women's representation in cinema to their roles in education and entrepreneurship. The convention concluded with a call for concrete actions to achieve greater gender equality in India.
