Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, in a significant move towards fostering national unity and celebrating diverse industrial strengths, announced the construction of a 'Unity Mall' in Amritsar during the 2025-26 budget presentation.
This initiative aims to highlight the state's industrial and cultural diversity by featuring stalls from all states and union territories, alongside Punjab's 23 districts. The government has earmarked Rs 80 crore for this venture, reflecting its commitment to empowering artisans and entrepreneurs.
Cheema also unveiled increased industrial incentives, totaling Rs 250 crore, the largest in Punjab's history, along with additional allocations for supporting MSMEs through the RAMP scheme. This strategy includes Rs 3,426 crore in subsidies and a dedicated Rs 10 crore for the R&D Center in Ludhiana.
