Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, introduced by the BJP-led Central government, as a vital contributor to India's security apparatus. Amidst political rhetoric, Sarma termed it the 'God-Sent Tax,' countering Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's label of 'Gabbar Singh Tax.'

In his critique of Gandhi's stance, Sarma highlighted that it is taxpayer contributions that empower India's military capabilities, referencing crucial acquisitions such as the Rafale fighter jets and the S-400 air defense systems. These systems, Sarma asserted, underline the importance of a robust GST framework in national security and resilience.

Sarma further praised the Indian armed forces for thwarting recent attempts by Pakistan to target multiple Indian military locations. He shared details on a social media post, illustrating how India's defense systems effectively neutralized these threats, including an unanticipated bonus of neutralizing Pakistan's air defense in Lahore.
