A monorail train in Mumbai ground to a halt between the Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park stations on Tuesday evening amidst a relentless downpour, officials reported. The stoppage prompted a complex rescue operation by the fire brigade and other agencies utilizing cranes.
The train had been idle for at least an hour on the elevated track due to what operators termed a 'minor power supply issue', according to a release from Mumbai Monorail.
In response, three snorkel vehicles from the Mumbai fire brigade arrived on the scene, prepared to evacuate passengers by cutting through window glass. The city has been experiencing heavy rains over the past two days, severely impacting normal life.
