Revolutionizing Railways: The Warangal Manufacturing Unit

Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that the Railway Manufacturing Unit (RMU) in Warangal is progressing as scheduled and is expected to be completed next year. During his site visit, Reddy highlighted the project's transformative potential for the region.
The RMU spans 160 acres with an investment of Rs 521 crore. It employs sustainable and advanced technologies to create a world-class railway facility. Initially, the unit will produce state-of-the-art MEMU rakes, aiming to improve short- and medium-distance train travel across India.
Reddy emphasized that the RMU will boost the railway sector, generate jobs for local youth, and support related industries. During his Warangal visit via Vande Bharat Express, he also reviewed key government projects, including tourism and infrastructure development.
