The Congress launched a scathing criticism against the government over IndiGo flight disruptions, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to deliver on promises of ease in air travel. They argue that the current 'crisis' is a result of government policies fostering monopolies in the aviation industry.
Amidst the chaos affecting thousands of passengers, the Ministry of Civil Aviation stipulated that IndiGo must process ticket refunds by Sunday and ensure misplaced baggage is returned within two days. Failure to comply will result in immediate regulatory action.
Leader Sasikanth Senthil blamed the crisis on government mishandling, particularly citing revoked safety regulations and crony capitalism. He demanded accountability from Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu, asserting that public interest and market competition have been severely compromised.
