Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has fiercely criticized the BJP following comments made by Pratap Simha, a former Mysuru-Kodagu MP, against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a bypoll campaign in Bagalkote. The remarks have sparked a political controversy ahead of the April 9 by-elections.
Surjewala condemned Simha's comments, claiming they expose the BJP's political tactics aimed at marginalized communities. In a social media statement, he accused the BJP of orchestrating such outbursts as part of their political culture. He highlighted past threats against Siddaramaiah and pointed to contradictions within BJP's campaign strategies.
Demanding accountability, Surjewala called for an apology from BJP leaders and urged them to expel Simha. He warned of electoral backlash if the party failed to act, asserting that voters would express their disapproval in the elections. BJP has yet to respond to the allegations.
