Central Railway has announced the operation of 14 'Train on Demand' special services to manage the expected surge in passenger numbers during the festival season and winter vacations. Scheduled for December 6-7, these services aim to ease travel for passengers faced with flight cancellations and increased travel needs.
The special trains were introduced as a response to the recent cancellation of multiple IndiGo flights, which contributed to a spike in travel demand. These services will link key destinations such as Madgaon, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, offering multiple classes to suit different passenger budgets and preferences.
Among the scheduled services, the CSMT-Nagpur train will leave on December 7 at 3:30 pm, while the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Madgaon special departs at 11:10 am, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Hyderabad at 5:20 pm, and Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin at 8:20 pm. Central Railway has indicated that more services will be organized based on passenger demand.
