In a tragic turn of events on Tuesday, a lorry hit a two-wheeler and subsequently collided with a car on a state highway near Dharmapuri, resulting in four fatalities, including a woman. The police have confirmed the casualties, while two more victims were hospitalized with injuries.
The incident unfolded when the lorry, en route to Salem, lost control and struck a two-wheeler from behind before ramming into an oncoming car, according to a police official speaking to PTI. All four victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Identified victims include V Kalaiarasi, P Dinesh, S Muniappan, and the lorry driver, Arunagiri. Government and police officials promptly visited the accident site to inspect the wreckage. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
