Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced on Thursday its acquisition of a majority stake in Brij Hospitality. The deal, worth Rs 193 crore, gives IHCL ownership of the brand 'Brij', known for its boutique experiential leisure offerings.

The acquisition agreement ensures IHCL holds a 51 per cent ownership, strategically positioning the company to expand its boutique leisure segment across India. IHCL's Managing Director and CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, highlighted the addition of 11 operational hotels and 11 more in the pipeline, which will grow their hospitality portfolio by approximately 300 keys.

Brij Hospitality, recognized for its unique service and luxurious stays, has a portfolio of 22 hotels, with expansion projects underway in regions like Jaipur, Varanasi, and even Nepal and Sri Lanka. Co-founders Udit Kumar and Anant Apurv Kumar expressed excitement about collaborating with IHCL to offer immersive experiences that reflect India's rich cultural tapestry.
