Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in West Bengal's Malda on Saturday, marking a significant leap in the nation's infrastructure development. He inaugurated the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper train, paving its route between Howrah and Guwahati (Kamakhya) from the Malda Town station.
In a sweeping move to enhance connectivity, Modi launched an array of rail and road infrastructure ventures worth over Rs 3,250 crore. These projects are anticipated to accelerate development throughout West Bengal and extend benefits to the North-East region.
Additionally, the Prime Minister virtually flagged off four Amrit Bharat Express trains, ensuring seamless connections from New Jalpaiguri to Nagercoil and Tiruchirappalli, as well as from Alipurduar to SMVT Bengaluru and Mumbai (Panvel).
