A 17-year-old allegedly behind the wheel of a speeding Mercedes caused a serious accident inside the South Mumbai Coastal Road tunnel, injuring three family members, police reported on Monday.
The accident occurred early Sunday when the luxury car rammed into another vehicle from behind and then hit a second car. The injured include a senior citizen woman.
Authorities have charged the Mercedes owner, a businessman from the Agripada area, along with his 18-year-old granddaughter and the teenage driver, after uncovering that the young boy lost control inside the tunnel.
