KSDL Breaks Production Records with Mysore Sandal Soaps

Extensive measures for market expansion and quality improvements have been implemented. Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), the state-owned producer of Mysore sandal soaps, has set a new production benchmark this January with 4,894.777 metric tonnes of goods manufactured, according to Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil.

The January figures include 3,798 tonnes of soap, 941 tonnes of detergents, and 155 tonnes of cosmetics. This surpasses the previous record of 4,735 tonnes produced in December 2025. To boost production, KSDL has focused on market expansion in North India and abroad, alongside implementing a continuous, quality-driven production system across three shifts.

Managing Director Prashanth highlighted that the achievement was made using existing facilities without additional staffing or new equipment. The company plans to introduce more products soon and aims to reach a turnover of Rs 5,000 crore by 2030.
