The Colorado State Patrol indicated that the heavy winds caused "brown out" conditions around 10 a.m., leading to zero visibility for drivers. The crash led to 29 individuals being hospitalized, although the extent of their injuries remains unknown. An investigation is ongoing, with visibility issues cited as a major factor.

The eastern part of Colorado faced severe winds, combining with warm and dry weather to elevate wildfire risks and cause travel disruptions at Denver's airport. Meanwhile, the state's western regions received much-needed snow in the mountains.
