Southern Railway's Triumph in Speed and Service: A Milestone Year

The Southern Railway made significant strides in operating efficiency during the 2025-26 fiscal year by introducing new trains, enhancing services, and improving punctuality. With 28 new pairs of trains and improved connectivity, the zone set records in service expansion and speed, providing better accessibility and convenience for passengers.

In a remarkable demonstration of efficiency and growth, the Southern Railway announced impressive operational achievements in the fiscal year 2025-26.

With a historic introduction of 28 pairs of new trains, including the speedy KSR Bengaluru-Ernakulam Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat Express, the railway bolstered long-distance and suburban connectivity across South India.

Expanding services through additional stoppages and enhanced train speeds, Southern Railway reported a leading punctuality rate of 93.22%, setting a benchmark among Indian Railways zones.
