FAA Limits Chicago O'Hare Flights to Combat Summer Delays
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration will limit daily flights at Chicago O'Hare International Airport to 2,708 operations this summer. This measure aims to reduce potential delays after a significant increase in planned flights threatened to overwhelm the airport, improving on last summer's performance.
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a cap on daily flights at Chicago O'Hare International Airport this summer, responding to a surge in planned operations that risk overwhelming the airport.
The FAA's order, issued on Thursday, restricts operations to 2,708 arrivals and departures per day from May 17 to October 24. This decision aims to prevent delays from worsening compared to last summer's already strained conditions.
By imposing this limit, the FAA seeks to stabilize flight schedules and improve the overall operational efficiency at one of the nation's busiest airports.
