Guar seed prices dip on back of uncertain policy by government

Guar seed prices were down by Rs 16 to Rs 4,205.5 per ten quintal in futures trade Wednesday as traders trimmed bets in line with subdued leads at physical markets. Guar seed futures declined due to soaring stock on continuous supplies from growing belts, marketmen said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed delivery for March declined by Rs 16, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 4,205.5 per ten quintal with an open interest of 22,450 lots. The delivery for April, too, softened by Rs 13, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 4,255 per ten quintal with an open interest of 94,860 lots.
