MP DGP chairs high-level meeting on railway security and Kumbh mela preparations
Madhya Pradesh DGP Kailash Makwana on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting and directed officials to ensure coordination on all aspects of railway security ahead of Simhastha Kumbh mela 2028 and other events. Additionally, in view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, discussions were held on the preliminary framework for managing rail and passenger traffic, operating additional trains, station management, crowd control, the official said.

Madhya Pradesh DGP Kailash Makwana on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting and directed officials to ensure coordination on all aspects of railway security ahead of Simhastha Kumbh mela 2028 and other events. The objective of the coordination committee meeting was to further strengthen the security of the rail network in Madhya Pradesh and ensure strategic preparedness involving various agencies, an official said. The DGP directed all concerned officials to ensure advance preparation, continuous monitoring, and prompt coordination on all aspects of railway security, so that passengers can be provided with safe, smooth, and organised travel facilities. The DGP particularly emphasised the need to develop a long-term security strategy keeping in mind the Simhastha 2028, the official said. The meeting discussed coordination among all relevant stakeholders for smooth and safe railway operations, maintenance of law and order within railway premises, keeping railway tracks free of obstructions, crowd control, passenger safety, women's and senior citizens' safety, and security management at sensitive stations. Additionally, in view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, discussions were held on the preliminary framework for managing rail and passenger traffic, operating additional trains, station management, crowd control, the official said. Special Director General of Police (Railways), Ravi Kumar Gupta, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence), A. Sai Manohar, and other police officers attended. Joint Director of the Intelligence Bureau and the Principal Chief Security Commissioners of RPF (West Central Railway Jabalpur), Western Railway, Central Railway, North Central Railway, and South East Central Railway attended virtually.
