Amazon's ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, is making waves in India, achieving a substantial 25% month-on-month growth in orders, according to Amazon President and CEO Andy Jassy. Launched in early 2025, the service initially reached select areas in Bengaluru, with rapid global expansion to nine countries, including the UAE, Mexico, and the UK.
The service promises delivery within 30 minutes on thousands of items, significantly boosting Prime membership shopping frequency. Following its successful integration and high adoption in India, Amazon Now has become a key player in the competitive quick-commerce sector alongside local giants like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart.
In response to demand, Amazon has announced that the service will expand to 100 Indian cities, supported by 1,000 specialized micro-fulfilment centers under a massive Rs 2,800 crore investment. This scale-up coincides with Amazon's impressive financial performance, reporting a 17% year-on-year increase in net sales in the first quarter of 2026.
