Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has voiced concerns over Kerala's inability to benefit from the Vizhinjam seaport as much as its neighbor, Tamil Nadu. He highlighted that Tamil Nadu leverages its abundant resources and efficient workforce.
Speaking at an event, Chennithala pointed out Kerala's delayed infrastructure projects, including a critical road and railway line, which are yet to commence. He noted that these holdbacks hinder Kerala from capitalizing on the seaport's potential.
In contrast, he stated Tamil Nadu is taking full advantage of the seaport, establishing greenhouses and large storage facilities in Kanyakumari district, facilitated by their labor availability and land resources.
