India's transition to electric mobility is on a robust trajectory, with electric two-wheelers hitting a 6.5% market penetration by the fiscal year 2025-26. This notable increase signals a growing acceptance among consumers and a strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity, according to the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

In a declaration on social media platform X, the Ministry highlighted the momentum in India's e-mobility landscape, stating that consumer confidence, technological advancements, and domestic EV production are driving this shift. The government's initiatives, particularly the PM E-DRIVE scheme, are spotlighted as pivotal in facilitating this growth.

The Ministry further noted that these advancements are part of broader efforts to meet environmental and energy efficiency objectives. The progress is seen as aligning with national policy goals, notably India's commitment toward Net Zero emissions by 2070 and the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, fostering a competitive e-mobility industry.
