Kerala's incoming Chief Minister V D Satheesan has announced efforts to mitigate the impact of the recent fuel price surge on the general public. Speaking with officials, Satheesan emphasized the importance of assessing the situation before moving forward with a decision.
In stark contrast, former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the central government's decision for being swift action against common citizens, branding the price increase as an 'injustice'. He insisted the government should retract the hike to ease the financial strain on households already grappling with rising living costs.
Petrol and diesel prices rose by Rs 3 per litre on Friday, marking the first rise in over four years. This has sparked significant concern among the public as it leads to escalated costs of essential goods and transportation, affecting workers, farmers, and middle-class families across the region.
