Boeing's Giant Leap: China Seals Massive Jet Deal
China has agreed to purchase 200 Boeing jets, with an option for 750 more, a major breakthrough amid US-China trade tensions. The deal, featuring General Electric engines, marks Boeing's first significant Chinese agreement in nearly ten years and a notable victory for President Trump.
China has committed to purchasing 200 Boeing jets, with the potential expansion to 750 planes, as announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday. The planes will be equipped with General Electric engines.
This agreement, if finalized, would represent Boeing's first substantial deal with China in nearly a decade. The U.S. planemaker had been largely excluded from the world's second-largest aviation market due to ongoing trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.
The announcement also signals a significant victory for President Trump, whose aggressive trade policies and tariffs have struggled to significantly reduce the sizable U.S. trade deficit with China.
