Early Morning Bus Fire at Santacruz Depot Marks Third Incident This Week

A BEST bus caught fire at Santacruz depot during refuelling after clutch repairs, marking the third such incident this week. No injuries were reported. The fire started due to a short circuit in the driver's cabin, but was controlled by staff and extinguished by the fire brigade.

An early morning blaze engulfed a BEST bus at the Santacruz depot as it was being refuelled on Wednesday following repairs for a faulty clutch. Officials confirmed that no one was injured.

This incident marks the third such event this week, following the previous fires at Pratiksha Nagar depot. The fire, which broke out around 2:45 AM due to a short circuit in the driver’s cabin, was initially tackled by Mateshwari staff using fire extinguishers before being fully extinguished by the fire brigade at 3:10 AM.
