The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled a plan to monetize 17 National Highway assets, totaling 1,692.5 km, during the financial year 2026–27. This move will see monetization through the toll-operate-transfer and infrastructure investment trust mechanisms.
The assets identified are spread across nine states, such as Haryana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. NHAI emphasized their economic importance due to established traffic potential and robust connectivity. The initiative will not cover assets scheduled for Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust in the same fiscal year.
NHAI's approach via TOT and InvIT is recognized for attracting long-term investments for highway infrastructure development, ensuring efficient management and operational excellence through structured financing solutions.
