EU Greenlights Arla Foods' Acquisition of DMK and DOC

The European Union has given its approval for Arla Foods to acquire Germany’s DMK and Dutch cooperative DOC without imposing any conditions. According to the EU, the deal is not expected to harm competition throughout the European Economic Area.

The decision followed an investigation by the European Commission, which concluded that the merger would not significantly limit competition regarding raw milk procurement or the supply of dairy products, crucially including private-label goods offered to retailers across northern Europe.

The clearance reflects confidence that the transaction will not disrupt the competitive landscape within the dairy industry, ensuring continued fair pricing and availability for consumers.
