The U.S. Justice Department's Antitrust Division has given the green light to Paramount Skydance Corp's $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to Politico sources.
Officials have not identified any antitrust risks, allowing the merger to proceed without conditions. Despite speculation about Paramount's political connections influencing the decision, Assistant Attorney General Omeed Assefi stated that politics played no role in the review process.
However, the battle isn't over yet. California, New York, and other states are gearing up to challenge the deal in court, arguing potential competitive disruptions.
