Over 80 World Bank funded schools in Zambia to be ready in Dec’18, says David Mabumba

David Mabumba, the Minister of General Education has announced that the first phase of construction of 82 secondary schools Zambia is expected to be completed by the end of December 2018. According to him, the gigantic amount of USD 60 million Zambia Education Enhancement Project (ZEEP) will undoubtedly increase access to secondary education in the country.
David Mabumba clarified lots of things related to the construction of schools under the ZEEP. He said that the World Bank funded ZEEP project was targeting communities that have never had a secondary school and the ministry was targeting to enrol pupils in these secondary schools once by January 2019.
According to Mabumba, some of these schools will be having boarding facilities to afford pupils who come from distant places to acquire education. He observed that once this project is completed, issues of learners dropping out of school due to long distances will be a thing of the past, Lusaka Times noted.
