Shiv Sena MP Calls for Deeper Investigation into NEET-UG Scandal

In a pointed critique aimed at the central government, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Anil Desai on Monday emphasized the need for a comprehensive probe into the NEET-UG controversy, suggesting that the problem extends beyond the arrest of a few individuals.

'The entire reputation has been tarnished because of NEET. Simply arresting one or two officers will not resolve the issue. There is an extensive racket at work,' asserted Desai, the MP representing Mumbai South Central.

Desai's remarks came following the Anti-Terrorism Squad’s apprehension of a Zilla Parishad school teacher from Latur in Maharashtra. The case filed alleges the operation of a racket helping NEET students who were willing to pay to pass the exam.

Desai highlighted the critical importance of ensuring a secure future for the youth, arguing that discussions on development and India’s aspirations to become a superpower are futile if the younger generation's future is not safeguarded.

The CBI, on Sunday, took further steps by registering an FIR regarding supposed irregularities in the NEET-UG exam conducted last month, deploying teams to various states for a broader investigation.
